THESE STATS HAVE BEEN SUPERCEDED BY A NEW SERIES STARTING HERE

In this short piece, we have a look at the Bitcoin Mining annual market share, as reported by blocktrail.com. Given that it’s the second of January on date of publication, we thought it would be a good time to have a look at what’s happened in the past year.

So looking back at mining in 2014, some long established mining pools such as ozcoin bowed out, and other smaller pools became marginalised as first gHash.io and then Discus Fish / F2Pool dominated the publicly available pools, and large scale (unknown) private farms came online, followed then by mining pools backed by hardware manufacturers.

So in numbers, here are the names of all mining pools who found blocks in the 365 days prior to January 2nd 2015, and their respective market share over the year.
