On a recent trip to Dublin city centre, I was walking up Abbey Street and noticed that GSM Solutions, which was formerly home to Dublin’s only Northside Bitcoin ATM is shut down, now replaced with a shop selling hemp goods. We had been in here several times to get bitcoin from their atm, as well as getting a Nintendo 3DS repaired and paying with bitcoin a while back.
The founders of the company were also heavily involved in the early days with the defunct Bitcoin Foundation of Ireland, as well as selling a POS system for selling bitcoin, and also the Bitex brokerage.
This closure means that there is now only one bitcoin atm located in Dublin, on the southside.
You can read all our articles about Irish Bitcoin ATMs to find one near you that's available to use. You can receive a 20% transaction fee discount on your first purchase of €100 or more using promo code BITIRL on any Bitcove ATM.
