Recently, a FinTech programme was brought to our attention. Its not quite the bitcoin space, but its definitely bitcoin adjacent, and so we had a conversation or 2 about if this is something we should cover on BitcoinsinIreland.com. If you’re reading this, you can guess the conclusion we came to. We feel that while this isn’t specifically aimed at the bitcoin space, it is open to the possibility, which we like.

So what is it I’m talking about? Its a partnership between NDRC: Making Ventures Happen, and Bank of Ireland. The FinTech Pre-Accelerator Programme is aiming to find digital solutions to global financial service problems.

A lofty goal when you think about it with a big picture point of view, but if you look at the NDRC and their track record on investment in innovation, its all about solving big problems 1 step at a time. Combine that with Bank of Ireland, and the potential is there to make significant progress towards predicting and diverting future financial crises.

Now if we go back to the conversation we had about if we should cover this story, this is where we knew a stumbling block would be. What do we say about it?

Well the easy thing to say is what they’re looking for. They want to get the word out to people that they are looking to find people to invest in. They’re looking for both idea people, and the people with the skills to execute (law/finance/business development/marketing/sales).

Not really much more for me to say. You’ll know if you’re the person they’re looking for – and I’ll certainly be keeping an eye on it to see if there’s any bitcoin innovations coming through!
