Translating the Blockchain

April 21, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Translating the Blockchain is organised by UCD’s Centre for Innovation, Technology & Organisation as part of its Coding Value research project (codingvalue.org).

This event aims to bring together theorists, security researchers, lawyers, journalists, regulators and industry experts, to discuss the implications and consequences of the blockchain for their respective domains. Its ambition is to bring the participants to a better understanding of the blockchain through vibrant discussion and from there to explore how this potentially disruptive technology might impact different industries and bureaucratic, legal, accounting and regulatory practices.  Given the myriad possibilities inherent in the blockchain, UCD’s Centre for Innovation, Technology & Organisation cordially invites you to help us translate the meaning of the blockchain through its inaugural World Café at University College Dublin.

During the World Café attendees will engage a series of questions about the blockchain in an interactive manner. The aim of the Café is to allow the various groups engaged with the blockchain in Dublin to gain a wider understanding of shared interests, concerns, and to extend their networks of collaborations.

The event will include a presentation by Lory Kehoe (Senior Manager, Consulting) and Cillian Leonowicz (Manager, Consulting) of Deloitte on the potential of the blockchain
